Christmas Traditions in Albuquerque - our Next Virtual World Tour Stop
The next stop on our virtual tour of the world is Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA! Yes, we are hopping from one point of the globe to another, but it's a virtual tour so why not?
For the past few years, the Historic Old San Ysidro Church in Corrales, NM (just outside of Albuquerque) has hosted a Festival of the Nativities. This year's Festival of the Nativities is scheduled for the weekend of December 19-20, 2020.
Here at YonderStar, we offer two nativity scenes made in Albuquerque by artist Juanita Bower. I wouldn't be surprised if her works make an appearance at the Nativity Festival mentioned above! Juanita works in terracotta and the color palettes she chooses are that of an Albuquerque sunrise.
The BioPark Botanic Garden of Albuquerque is transformed into a River of Lights during the month of December. 3-D light sculptures of all themes decorate the park. Not exactly Christmas themed, but the dinosaur light sculptures are really cool!
