The Fontanini Nativity story of Nathan: Nathan had been a produce vendor in Bethlehem for many, many years - everyone knew him, and no one knew his age. All they knew was that his produce was the finest for miles around. He was also a kind man, and intuitive of other's needs. When the family of Matthew, with his wife and nine children, arrived in the town to be counted for the census, their food from their long journey was gone. They had no family, and no shelter. They huddled together in the courtyard, hoping sleep would take away their hunger. Imagine their surprise the next morning, when they awoke to find a gorgeous array of fruits and vegetables beside them. God, and Nathan, worked a miracle for them - and they were grateful.
