Description
Nativity Scene hand-made in the USA, the Companions Collection features hand cast bonded marble figures created by designer Linda McDonald. Add to your Companions Collection Nativity scene with Avi the cloth merchant. He is the husband of Isabel the milk maid and father to Talai and Aaron. Standing figures average 7 inches.
Avi the Cloth Merchant was added to the Companions Collection Nativity by Hestia in 2007. Note: The Hestia Avi figure was retired at the end of 2016. He will be available only while supplies last.
From the Companions Nativity Collector Card: Avi is a cloth merchant from the town of Hebron, just outside of Bethlehem, where he lives with his wife Isabel and their two children Talia and Aaron. Avi is constantly traveling to all the towns in the area in order to sell his cloth, and has a reputation for carrying only the finest cloth available; beautiful, rich, and colorful fabrics. But on this particular trip home to Jerusalem, Avi learns his family and many others have travelled to Bethlehem to see a special new baby, born in a stable. Avi offers the mother of this new baby a gift of his finest cloth. The Christmas season is beautifully portrayed in this heirloom quality nativity set. Carefully chosen fabrics are applied to the bonded marble sculptures to add texture and an authentic first century appearance. Each year artist Linda MacDonald adds a new piece and retires an old one, and collectors are building value as they enjoy the beauty of this Christmas Nativity scene.
