Description
Designed specifically to be posed behind the manger, this pair of whimsical townsfolk peek through the window to see the newborn baby. Harald Kastlunger's joyous, humorous personality shines through with the unique hand-carved Nativity figure. Introduced in 2008.
Each piece of this exquisite Nativity has been hand carved and hand painted in the LEPI workshops in Italy after the original models made by the master woodcarver Harald Kastlunger. This expressive Nativity is not only an heirloom, but a magnificent work of art!
This 5.25 inch scale (13 cm) Nativity crèche set is handcarved from Alpine Maple, which is indigenous to the Groden Valley and is used for all LEPI woodcarvings. The wood is dried naturally for two years, then kiln dried for two weeks, reducing the wood to a moisture content of 8-12%. This enables the carvings to be in families for generations without any cracking or damage to the wood. Purchases of any LEPI woodcarvings are viewed as family heirlooms and are passes from generation to generation.
