Each piece of this exquisite nativity scene has been handcarved and handpainted in the LEPI workshops in Italy after the original models made by the master woodcarver Harald Kastlunger. This expressive Nativity is not only an heirloom, but a magnificent work of art!
Nativity scene starter set includes the Holy Family, Angel painted with 24 kt gold and silver, and the Stable. The stable measures 17.5" H x 16.5" W x 8.75" D.

The stable for this LEPI Kastlunger Nativity Scene starter set has been re-designed. A chimney was added and the shape of the window was changed. See photo of stable by itself for accurate depiction.
The 5.25 inch scale (13 cm) LEPI Kastlunger nativity set is made in Italy from Alpine Maple, which is indigenous to Val Gardena / Gröden Valley in Northern Italy and is used for all LEPI nativity woodcarvings. The wood is dried naturally for two years, then kiln dried for two weeks, reducing the wood to a moisture content of 8-12%. This enables the carvings to be in families for generations without any cracking or damage to the wood.
