Elephant Driver - Marolin Nativity Scene Germany

Marolin nativity scene elephant driver sized for a 4.75 inch nativity display. Made by hand in Germany from a carefully composed combination of kaolin, chalk, paper fibers, organic paste and clay. The drivers are attendants of the kings. They tend the riding and pack animals and ensure the safe transport of the wisemen. The elephant driver is scaled for a 12 cm nativity display.

This piece was originally designed in 1931 by Julius Weigelt and is still crafted today using the same traditions.
