Description
An African gourd is hollowed out and dried and turned into an enclosure for a banana fiber nativity scene. The three Magi and camels and a star are carved into the exterior of the gourd and then colored with natural dyes.
The door of the nativity enclosure is attached using rawhide and shells. Each gourd is shaped and sized differently but, on average, measure about 9 inches tall x 9 inches wide.
