African nativity scene carved in Rwanda from wood of the native Musave trees (Markhamia Lutea). Also called the Nile tree, musave trees are a very sustainable source of wood as they are fast growing and drought resistant once established.
Mary cradles the infant Jesus, Joseph stands with a staff and a sheep in nestled at their feet. This beautiful nativity scene from Rwanda is hand carved and finished using a a mahogany colored liquid wood stain and polish. Measures about 6.5 inches tall.
