Stunning nativity scene handmade in Mongolia from clay, silk, handmade paper and other embellishments. Each nativity set is unique with variations in color and design and includes the holy family, three wisemen, and two young shepherds.
Nativity scene made by hand by doll artist Dorjkhand who has been doing paper and clay sculptures for 40 years. She was educated in doll crafting, the only major available at the time during the Soviet regime in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia.

Mary cradles the infant Jesus in her arms and stands about 9 inches tall including the height of her hat. The clothing style of the holy family is that of 13th century Mongolia.

Mongolian Nativity
It arrived yesterday as we were informed by the government that we were going into stage 4 lockdown for 5 days. And all I could do was smile because my Nativity was so very beautiful and joyful. I seem to be missing a feather from one of the Magi but although it is sad it did not make it my joy is not diminished - it was worth the wait for shipping. Please thank the artist.
