An amazing hand-carved Nativity scene. This Holy Family Starter Set for the LEPI Nazarene Nativity scene collection will be the beginning of a family tradition for decades to come. Each figure is meticulously handled by various artisans in the LEPI studios located in the Gröden Valley val Gardena of Italy, where Nativity carving has been setting the standard for over a century. The stable is hand-crafted in Italy from Alpine Maple. Stable including base measures approximately 24" wide x 13" deep x 12" high.
The Holy Family and some of the other figures within this collection feature 24 carat gold highlights.
This 10 cm (4 inch) creche set is hand-carved from Alpine Maple, which is indigenous to the Groden Valley and is used for all LEPI woodcarvings. The wood is dried naturally for two years, then kiln dried for two weeks, reducing the wood to a moisture content of 8-12%. This enables the carvings to be in families for generations without any cracking or damage to the wood.
Purchases of any LEPI woodcarvings are viewed as family heirlooms and are passed from generation to generation.
