Description
It appears baby Jesus was not the only newborn in Harald Kastlunger's magical Nativity. Here a mother sow works overtime to provide for her many piglets.
Each piece of this exquisite Nativity has been handcarved and handpainted in the LEPI workshops in Italy after the original models made by the master woodcarver Harald Kastlunger. This expressive Nativity is not only an heirloom, but a magnificent work of art!
This 5.25 inch scale (13 cm) Nativity scale crèche set is handcarved from Alpine Maple, which is indigenous to the Groden Valley and is used for all LEPI woodcarvings. The wood is dried naturally for two years, then kiln dried for two weeks, reducing the wood to a moisture content of 8-12%. This enables the carvings to be in families for generations without any cracking or damage to the wood.
Purchases of any LEPI woodcarvings are viewed as family heirlooms and are passes from generation to generation.
