Shipibo designs decorate this nativity set made by the Shipibo people in Peru. The Shipibo-Conibo are an indigenous population who live along the Ucayali River in the Amazon rainforest in Perú.
Many believe the traditional design in this nativity represents an ancient language, others think the pattern depicts the great Amazon river and yet another belief is that the pattern is a simulation of the the great Anaconda snake. Mary measures 4.25" high.
